On March 28th, Mama Bear and the DFCU team visited our friends over at Roosevelt Elementary School in Paramount! We had such a fun morning reading our favorite Berenstain Bears book with the students. Each student got to take home their own copy of the book to read again and again.
March is Women's History Month, and what better way to celebrate and honor the women of our communities than with the strong Women of Lynwood. The Women of DFCU were proud to honor and recognize the amazing women who make history in our community.
DFCU is proud to be a sponsor for the annual Paramount State of the City Address. Thank you to Mayor Olmos and the entire City of Paramount for making Paramount a great place to live, work and play!

Thank you Northwest Downey Little League for inviting us to help kick off the season at the 2022 Opening Ceremony! We had a great afternoon filled with games, music, food, and team spirit. Good luck to all the young athletes competing this season. DFCU is rooting for you!
Thank you Somerset High School for inviting us to teach students about saving and budgeting and letting them take a Bite of Reality! Bite of Reality is an interactive financial literacy simulation in which students are given a budget and have to "shop" for necessities, such as housing, groceries, and transportation, all while staying under budget. We had a great time teaching students budgeting skills and how they can use these skills in the real world.
DFCU’s annual Adopt a Family Program has returned once again and this year, we are happy to have adopted a total of 12 families from our communities of Compton, Bellflower, and Downey. Thanks to the contributions from Team DFCU, we were able to donate $1,800 to families in need of some extra holiday cheer. To celebrate, families were invited to join us in a night filled with delicious food, fun games, giveaways, gifts, and holiday spirit. A special thank you to Downey Unified School District, Caring Connections Bellflower, Our Place Healing Hearts, and The Children’s Institute for your support, and for everything you do to support the families and children in our community.

On the evening of December 6th, 2021, DFCU was proud to award the recipients of our Student Enrichment Grant a total of $8,750. The grant money was awarded to educators of Downey Unified School District, El Rancho Unified School District, and Los Angeles Unified School District. Thank you educators for continuing to enrich the lives of our students with your creative projects and out-of-the-box thinking! We love our teachers!
